We're Hiring — Portfolio Analyst (Remote)
GSV Group is a venture studio and holding company building scalable consumer brands across Africa. We're looking for a Portfolio Analyst to support the research, analysis, and performance tracking that sits behind how GSV evaluates opportunities and manages its portfolio of businesses.
This is a fully remote, full-time role suited to a recent graduate or someone with 1–2 years of experience in finance, strategy, consulting, or research. You will work directly with the Founder on the analytical work that happens before a decision gets made and the ongoing work that keeps the portfolio performing.
What You'll Do
Track and report on portfolio company performance — revenue, margins, and key operating metrics — on a regular cadence
Build financial models and unit economics for new venture concepts and investment opportunities
Research new markets, sectors, and business opportunities relevant to the GSV portfolio
Prepare investment memos and opportunity briefs that present findings clearly and concisely
Support due diligence when evaluating new investments or partnerships
Monitor competitive activity across sectors GSV operates in — retail, FMCG, food and beverage, and wellness
Contribute to the GSV Insights content programme with data-backed market commentary
Maintain internal records and databases that support portfolio oversight and governance
What We're Looking For
Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
1–2 years of experience in finance, strategy, consulting, investment, or research
Strong analytical skills — you're comfortable building models and drawing conclusions from data
Clear, concise written communication — you can turn complex analysis into a short, sharp brief
High attention to detail — you check your work and your numbers
Self-directed and able to manage your own output without close supervision
Genuinely curious about how businesses are built, structured, and scaled
Interest in African consumer markets and the venture building space
